{"id":919,"date":"2021-04-30T14:36:11","date_gmt":"2021-04-30T12:36:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dyslexiasa.org\/?p=919"},"modified":"2021-04-30T14:38:33","modified_gmt":"2021-04-30T12:38:33","slug":"early-warning-signs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dyslexiasa.org\/?p=919","title":{"rendered":"Early warning signs of Dyslexia"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Early warning signs of dyslexia<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" src=\"http:\/\/dyslexiasa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/dyslexia_1.jpg\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" srcset=\"http:\/\/dyslexiasa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/dyslexia_1.jpg 400w, http:\/\/dyslexiasa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/dyslexia_1-300x300.jpg 300w, http:\/\/dyslexiasa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/dyslexia_1-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>Speech And Language<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Word-naming problems<\/li>\n<li>Word mispronunciation<\/li>\n<li>Jumbling words<\/li>\n<li>Poor use of syntax<\/li>\n<li>Hesitate speech<\/li>\n<li>Needs frequent presentation of a word before being able to use it accurately and consistently<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Visual Difficulties<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Some children will be very poor at drawing, alternatively they could be the total oppersite and very good with colour.<\/li>\n<li>They may find it difficult to sort beads by shapes<\/li>\n<li>Have difficultly in learning to dress themselves, putting clothes on inside out and not remembering which comes first, a vest of shirt, as well as difficulty with buttons and button holes.<\/li>\n<li>May put their shoes on the wrong foot&nbsp; as well as have difficulty in learning to tie their laces<\/li>\n<li>They struggle with turning on and off taps,&nbsp; and have difficulty in turning door knobs.<\/li>\n<li>They may find doing jigsaw puzzles or making models difficult.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Motor Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They find it difficult&nbsp; to use a pair of scissors<\/li>\n<li>They will find it difficult to trace<\/li>\n<li>They may not be able to use a rubber effectively<\/li>\n<li>They tend to hold a pencil awkwardly<\/li>\n<li>Learning to do a tie will be extremely difficult<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Gross Motor Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They find hopping difficult<\/li>\n<li>They constantly bumping into people and objects<\/li>\n<li>They have tendency to knock things over or to drop things<\/li>\n<li>Learning to ride a bicycle can be a tortuous process<\/li>\n<li>Setting the table may be difficult \u2013 knives and forks may be put on the wrong side<\/li>\n<li>Learning to swim can be difficult for some children, especially the breaststroke.<\/li>\n<li>Playground games may be difficult, especially if they involve&nbsp; words such as left\/right, up\/down, backwards\/forwards and front\/behind.<\/li>\n<li>Learning to dance may be difficult for some children.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Early warning signs of Dyslexia include word-naming problems and word mispronunciation.
